THE ROSE AND THE

NIGHT QUEEN

Long time ago, in a land faraway, lived a group of Plant people.

They were always fighting because of a plant called

Pretty Queen (Night Queen) who was bossy and unkind.

She had a beautiful house near a meadow.

One day a Rose moved in near Pretty Queen’s house.

This made Pretty Queen furious because

Rose’s fragrance was much more pleasant than

Pretty Queen’s and it did not allow

Pretty Queen to spread her fragrance around.

She went to the Judge of the Plant

people and told him the whole story.

Then the Judge turned to Rose.

Rose said; ‘How can I prevent my sweet fragrance

from spreading happiness around?’

Then Rose and Pretty Queen began to fight. Meanwhile the

Judge asked GOD for help to resolve the issue.

The Almighty knew Pretty Queen was selfish and bossy.

He cursed Pretty Queen that she would

spread her fragrance only at night and blessed

Rose that she would appear much more beautiful than

Pretty Queen and be loved for its fragrance.
